Everybody Wins When Kids Learn How to Rescue Homeless Dogs

It makes me so sad to see cats and dogs in animal shelters, waiting to be adopted. I wish I could take all of them home with me! I just heard about an organization that gets kids involved with rescuing homeless and abandoned animals. Their main focus is saving dogs from high-kill shelters in rural areas where they are unlikely to survive.

Art Classes for Everyone – Even if They Can’t Afford to Pay

I love drawing and inventing cool art projects, but I wouldn’t have known where to start if it hadn’t been for my awesome art teacher. I just read about a nonprofit in Indiana that provides free art classes and camps for kids who can’t afford to pay. This woman, Carol Conrad, used to be an art teacher in schools, and then she taught private art lessons at her home so that she could stay home with her kids. But she hated not being able to teach the kids who couldn’t afford to take her classes.

15-Year-Old Climate Activist Speaks To UN General Assembly

Daisy, here is another kid who is using his youthful perspective to get adults to listen and make real changes. Last summer, Xiuhtezcatl Roske-Martinez made the news when he spoke, along with actor Robert Redford, about climate change to the United Nations General Assembly.
