Everybody Wins When Kids Learn How to Rescue Homeless Dogs
It makes me so sad to see cats and dogs in animal shelters, waiting to be adopted. I wish I could take all of them home with me! I just heard about an organization that gets kids involved with rescuing homeless and abandoned animals. Their main focus is saving dogs from high-kill shelters in rural areas where they are unlikely to survive.
It’s called the “Lucky Kids Club” for Lucky Dogs Animal Rescue, and the best part is that they teach kids how to host fundraising events, donation drives, educational events, and service parties where they make dog toys or bake dog biscuits to sell and raise money for the Lucky Dogs.
The kids do all the work – and the organization shows them how to do it! They teach kids how to talk to groups of other kids, like Girl Scout troops and church groups, about how to save these dogs, and get more kids involved. These kids are learning how to make a real difference in their community, and they are saving the lives of dogs.
