Decomposing Water Bottle
Now, this is a story about a social entrepreneur who not only figured out a way to raise money for charity but also solve a problem.
James Longcroft wanted to sell bottles of water with 100% of the proceeds going to provide clean drinking water in Africa.
But he realized that putting it in plastic water bottles was not the way to go. So he developed a biodegradable single-use water container made out of environmentally friendly materials that can decompose in 3 weeks.
This bottle costs the same as a regular bottle and can keep the water inside fresh for months.
Right now James and his team are currently raising money for this program called Choose Water, through a crowdfunding campaign on Indiegogo. This will help to manufacture and distribute the Choose Water bottle.
They hope to get it on grocery store shelves by the end of the year with a cost of $1.20 per bottle, with all the proceeds going to charity.
